pucker up monkey man! xx
LOL!
yes it's my 11th jwn birthday.. i could never have imagined when i started posting here as a 36 year old and technically still 'active' jw just how interesting the journey out would be.
lots of members have helped and influenced me over the years, mary, the 'norwegians' (not universally popular i know), little toe, jgnat, ian (dansk), alan f, alleymom, blondie, leo, blues brother, undercover, farkel, minimus, kid a, funkyderek, james woods, leavingwt, sizemik and so many others who have come and gone.
thanks to all of you, even if your names escape me for now please know that you are appreciated.. nic'.
pucker up monkey man! xx
LOL!
so in my mid teens i finally refused to stop all jw activity naively thinking i may be able to live a more normal life.
(i was already taken out of school at 14.
) after this i wasn't allowed to go outside even a few feet in front of the door by myself.
Sort of but not as extreme as your situation. When I was 16 my parents didn't like me going out with someone so they made me split up with him and restricted my movements and dropped/picked me up at work so they knew where I was at all times.
my uncle was rushed to the hospital last tuesday with severe stomach pain.
(he was diagnosed with colon cancer one year ago.
the doctors, family, and my uncle decided against colon surgery.
Sadly this doesn't surprise me.
theme of 2012 dc safeguard your heart..
Damage control. This smacks of desperation.
well.. i've been here for a few weeks but still feel like a relative newbie.
i just wanted to introduce myself as much as i'm able to.
i'm still 'in' so to speak although mentally 'out'.
Welcome and thanks for sharing your story.
with the special talk entitled 'is it later than you think?
' coming up, wouldn't it be great to have some flyers made up and distibuted at kingdom halls on the day?!
can you imagine jws coming out to their car and finding this under the windshield?.

the sunday after every memorial they intruduce a new talk, which is the 'special talk'.. this year it's called: "is it later than you think".
anyone able to provide me the outline?.
You know, the fact that the title of the talk matches EXACTLY the title of the infamous Awake! is just uncanny. Probably a coincidence, but imagine if it were one of those rascally writing department guys slipping this stuff under the radar?
Wouldn't that be strange.
i'm scanning through some of the results from the 2012 jw survey as they're coming in.. the most populous of the six voting categories with 76 voters so far is my own category, for those who are inactive, or "faded/fading" (not disfellowshipped or da'd, but no longer reporting time on the ministry).. one statistic already leaping out at me surrounds the question "do you experience 'pre-emptive shunning' from active witnesses, who view you as 'bad association'?
" of the 74 who voted on this so far, 76% have answered "yes" to this question.. it's early days, and obviously i will have a clearer picture of the extent of the problem once the survey closes at the end of the year.
however, the results already in suggest that pre-emptive shunning is widespread among inactive ones, despite this not being an "official" policy of the society.. i was interested in your opinions as to why this may be?
I've done the slowest fade imaginable. I'm still being shunned.
All that consideration as to being kind to people's feelings and where did it get me?!
did you know moses wore a wig?.
.
sometimes he was seen with aaron and sometimes he wasn't..
LOL!

this is actually not a former witness or anything, this is a cracked style article.
i think it's pretty funny, i think it's evidence that the wt is not going to be around forever.
it feels really creepy to do social networking in a room where you've put up paranoid-eye wallpaper.
Hilarious!
This was the bit that made me spit coffee at the screen.
